School News: February 13, 2018


Re-Enrollment ended last Friday. We are currently interviewing and enrolling new families. If you have not re-enrolled your child, your spot is no longer being held for next school year. Please re-enroll asap.



Mr. Eric Brofford has returned the call. Please pray for our church and school as we continue the search.



Congratulations to our Varsity Eagles on their 3rd place finish at the Our Shepherd tournament this weekend. It was a wonderful way to end the Winter Season for all sports. Uniforms for all basketball teams were due yesterday. If your child forgot to return it, please do so to Mr. Willig asap.


Congratulations to our robotics teams this weekend. Team 1 finished in the Teamwork challenge with a score of 143, and won the STEM Award and the Excellence Award, both of which qualify them for state in March!


Scrabble T-shirt order forms were sent home last Friday. The deadline to order is tomorrow, Feb. 14th. Please return $ and order form to Mrs. Schultz.


Don’t forget to join us for Ash Wednesday Service on Feb. 14th. You may join us during chapel at 8:10 with our students, or at 4:30 pm or 7:00 pm for the traditional Ash Wednesday service in the Sanctuary. Join us for Soup Suppers in between the services.



Our teachers enjoy having lunch together once a month and are thankful for all the volunteers that make it possible. Our next lunch monitoring date is Feb. 15th. Please sign up here to help.


St. John Spirit Night will be at Sky Zone on Feb. 15th from 4-8 pm. Prices are as follows: 60 min jump $15, 90 min jump $19, 120 min jump $22 $2/Skysocks, but can bring existing Skyzone socks if you have them. It is at the Southport Skyzone, 4150 Kildeer Dr. 46237

Make plans to attend the 2018 Kristi's Games, a night of FRIENDS, FAMILY, FOOD & FUN!  Kristi's Games is dedicated to raising awareness of impaired and dangerous driving. Join us at Lutheran High School Saturday, February 17th, from 5:00-7:00 when the Saints play junior varsity and varsity games against Monrovia.  The night will include a hog roast, cheerleading bake sale, free face painting, a performance by the mini-camp cheerleaders, shooting contests, a free balloon artist, and for the first time in a number of years we will have a pep band playing at the varsity basketball game. The hog roast will include a pork sandwich, green beans, chips & drink for $6.00.  A hot dog, chips & drink will cost $3.00.



Join us for Sci-Fest on Tuesday, Feb. 20th at 6:30 pm. During the day 1st-8th graders will build a glider out of household materials. That evening at 6:30 pm, the students will fly their gliders in competition. The goal is to see whose glider will go the farthest and the straightest.



Join us on Tuesday, Feb. 20th at Jimmy John's in Beech Grove (4914 S Emerson Ave). Just mention St. John when ordering anytime from 11 am- 10 pm. We know this is the same night as the Sci-Fest, so we encourage you to bring your dinner to the SciFest.



IStep tests for all students in Grades 3-8 begin on February 26th. It is important for students to be in school for their test days. The process will take about 2 weeks. Please help your student get plenty of rest each night and a healthy breakfast each morning.


Information is available outside the office and was sent home last week about the annual Camp Invention to be hosted by Bunker Hill Elementary School from June 4-8 for Grades K-6 (9 AM – 3:30 PM daily). This week long program presents children with hands-on challenges that encourage creative problem solving, teamwork, entrepreneurship, and innovation.


In honor of Presidents Day (Washington and Lincoln), our school will be closed on Monday, February 19th. The office will remain open from 8 am-12 pm.
