After 41 years as an educator, Sandy Pride will be retiring from teaching. Sandy has taught for a total of 41 years with the last 31 years at St. John Lutheran. Her first year at St. John she was a third grade teacher and has been a first grade teacher the past 30 years.

Sandy completed her undergrad degree at Concordia Seward and her masters at IUPUI. She says she is thankful for the support her family has given her and the sounding board they've been. She's also appreciated the prayers she's received from colleagues and school families.  

Sandy said, "I have always felt that St. John has treated me as a professional. God has blessed me and has been my anchor even on those days I may not have been as prepared as I should have been. He's also blessed me with many students who have become friends over time. I thank God for the good health He has given me and the ability to adjust and the words to use in whatever situation has arisen in the classroom."  

After she retires she plans to travel, attend grandchildren’s events, make a dent in the stash in her craft room, walk and ride her bike. You will continue seeing her serving on St. John's AV team at the 10:25 service and special events. And she hope everyone will keep honking their horns as they go by her house.
