Cheryl Willig's Retirement Celebration

After 39 years of teaching, Cheryl Willig will be retiring. Cheryl has spent the last 26 years teaching Preschool, Pre-K and Kindergarten at St. John Lutheran.

Before coming to St. John, Cheryl taught 3rd and 4th grades at St. Paul in Northville, Michigan: Reading and Math Resource at Nassau Lutheran in Mineola, NY; 1st and 2nd Grades at St. Peter Lutheran in Indianapolis, and Parent’s Day Out and Preschool at Ascension Lutheran in Beech Grove.

Cheryl said, "St. John has been a blessing to me and my family, first as a parent, and most recently as a teacher. I am thankful for the chance to teach so many of God’s children not only on the basics of readiness and social skills, but most importantly the opportunity to freely share the life-saving grace through faith in Chris Jesus. I would like to thank St. John for being such an important part of my life.”

During retirement, Cheryl looks forward to completing some unfinished projects at home, traveling, being a Grandma to her grandsons in Florida, and hopefully moving to Florida (someday).

Feel free to share your favorite memories, thanks, and congratulations for Cheryl in the comments section below.

And please join us for an open house honoring Cheryl Willig on Saturday, May 12th in The Commons from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
