Generation to Generation: Planting Oak Trees

Investing in the next generation is not an assignment only for people who were hired for the job or even just for people who have "gifts with kids."  Investing in the next generation is a responsibility that belongs to the whole congregation.

Deuteronomy 6:4-9 says, "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates."

This is not a command to parents only.  It is a command that belongs to all of God's people for God's children.

Please join us on Saturday, September 12th in the Dwelling place to hear Mark Devries, founder of Ministry Architects, talk to us about raising Godly children with a faith that sticks. He shares with us that God never intended parents to have to do the raising of Godly children alone. He will share with us the need for vertical relationships that fosters people of different ages and life stages in relationship together.

We encourage congregation members of all ages to attend. Childcare will be provided for children 6 weeks - 5th grade.

Join us for breakfast from 9:30–10 a.m. in the Commons and stay for Mark's talk Generation to Generation: Planting Oak Trees from 10-11:30 a.m. in the Dwelling Place.
