Installation of Rev. Troy Countryman as Senior Pastor at St. John Lutheran

On Sunday, December 11, Rev. Troy Countryman was installed as the senior pastor of St. John Lutheran. As an official service of installation for a called and commission church worker in the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, pastors in our circuit and members of other LCMS congregations were invited to attend and celebrate this joyous occasion of God answering prayers.

Over 400 people attended the service, which was held in the Dwelling Place. 18 pastors, attended and shared passages from Scripture and encouragement with Pastor Troy while laying on hands to bless his call at St. John. Rev. Dr. Bruce Hartung, professor emeritus at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, preached the sermon.

The handbell choir, children’s choir, and adult choirs all shared their gift of music during the service. Pastor Troy and his oldest daughter Piper performed solos during the singing of “Blest Are They,” based on the Beatitudes.

This installation service provided a reminder of the joys and responsibilities of life in a congregation and the ministry of a pastor. All of those in attendance, including Pastor Troy, felt encouraged and uplifted by the hymns, readings, and sermon.

May God continue to bless the ministry of St. John Lutheran Church and School, and our pastor Rev. Troy Countryman and his family as they live and serve with us!
