January 24 News and Notes
Voters’ Meeting Results
On January 19th, the Voters’ Assembly of St. John elected to Call a Senior Pastor to St. John. Contact was made with this Pastor and he readily stated his willingness to the consider the Call. He has already reached out to leadership and staff.
Out of courtesy for his current congregation, we are not announcing his name publicly until he has had the opportunity to inform them.
Please keep this Pastor, his family, his current congregation, St. John and all calling congregations in your prayers as this process moves forward. May God’s will be done among us and for His kingdom!
Lunch and Learn
Soup’s On! On Thursday, February 6, our lunch and learn adult ministry will be providing a variety of soups to enjoy and warm up from the winter cold. We will be viewing and discussing the video, “If the Earth Were a Golf Ball,” about God’s immense and amazing creation! Please bring a side, salad, or dessert to complement the soup. Please join us!
Men’s Breakfast Bible Study
All men of the congregation are invited to join us Saturday, February 1st at 7:30 am in the teacher work room (enter door C9) to begin our study of “Why Men Hate Going to Church.” It will prove to be an enlightening study and lively discussion. Books will be provided. Please RSVP for breakfast.
Wednesday Morning Bible Study
Weathering the extreme cold has been challenging to say the least! But there is good news. We still have Bible Study on Wednesday mornings at 9:45. We have one more lesson in “Our Life in Christ” series, on King Hezekiah.
Starting February 5, we will begin an 8-week session on the Lord’s Prayer using the Small and Large Catechisms. Please join us, and if you have missed recently, who cares? Coffee is always on and it’s getting warmer outside too.
Great News!
We have upgraded our streaming provider platform. Sunday services are still streamed through Facebook, but are also available at stjohnindy.org/live. The most recent service can be viewed later on the website, or archives of services will also be available.

If you are a benefit or associate member of Thrivent Financial, you are entitled to two, $250 Thivent Action Team grants per calendar year. These can be used for fundraisers, educational events, or service projects. St. John utilizes several of these each year for a number of our church and school activities.
