Little Wings S.T.E.M. Curriculum

Little Wings is expanding the curriculum this year. We are adding S.T.E.M. activities to each day. S.T.E.M. is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.  Children naturally build with blocks and then knock them down, push and pull trains with magnets and figure out which ends attach. They can look at 2 plates of goldfish crackers and figure out which has more for them to eat. This deduction and reasoning is challenged and expanded through our daily activities focused on S.T.E.M These activities lean more toward logical learning instead of academic learning. S.T.E.M. activities help children to explore, observe, ask questions, predict, and integrate their learning.

Block towers, train track assembly, house building with magnetic blocks, or counting friends based on a rubric are all S.T.E.M. activities in preschool. Through this advancement in our curriculum the children will expand their logical learning preparing them for “Big School.”
