Lutheran Women in Missions (LWML)
Lutheran Women in Mission (LWML) formerly known as Lutheran Womens Missionary League, was organized in 1942 and celebrated its 75th anniversary this year. We have over 30 ladies involved in LWML at St. John. At our church, LWML is also referred to as Ladies Aid. Our Ladies Aid group meets on the 2nd Thursday of every month at 11:30. Their meetings are focused on missions and fellowship. The money that is collected in the “mites” boxes you see in the Commons are sent back to LWML to do mission work. The dues that Ladies Aid collects go towards devotional material (The Quarterly), Local Conventions and towards local missions.
The Ladies Aid is hosting Deen Albert from Poblo International Ministries. Deen is an Islam who converted to Christianity, on Thursday, Oct. 12th at 1:00 pm. They invite you to come and hear Deen’s story and then to stay for some desserts afterwards.
