Pastor Duling Celebrating One Year at St. John

We celebrate that Pastor Duling was installed as Senior Pastor at St. John one year ago today! We are grateful for God’s goodness in bringing us a shepherd who faithfully preaches and teaches the Word and administers the Sacraments. Thank you, Pastor Duling for serving the Lord at St. John!

Cross Connection

Thank you to those who made a Cross Connection at Southeastern Church of Christ last Sunday. We rejoice in the opportunities we have to work with SCoC to serve our neighbors and community. The event raised $600 for the Wheeler Mission Center for Women and Children. We look forward to more opportunities for fellowship and collaboration.

Anniversary

St. John will give thanks to God and celebrate our 175th anniversary in 2027. Events and activities are being planned to demonstrate how our future is as captivating as our past. If you have an interest in serving on the committee, please contact Matthew Frick.

Parents’ Night Out

Parents’ Night Out, hosted by the Board of Parish Fellowship, will be on Friday, May 8, from 5:30-8:30. Cost is $25 per pre-K 3-4th grade child, and includes pizza, lemonade, and dessert, as well as activities including gym time and Mother’s Day crafts with our own Mrs. Waterman. This is a perfect opportunity for dads to take moms out for a date night! Please register HERE.  Middle school through high school youth and adults are welcome to volunteer. Please sign up HERE.

Name Tags

The annual Advent and Christmas concert presented by the choirs of St. John will be Sunday, December 7 at 4pm in the Dwelling Place.

Lunch and Learn

In an effort to get to know everyone on a first name basis, St. John's has implemented a name tag program. Don't forget to pick up your name tag as you enter for services. There will be a fresh set available every week. If you have not signed up yet, you may still do so.

Lunch and Learn

Lunch and Learn will take a field trip to the Ray Skillman Car Museum on Thursday, May 7. Please meet at 9:45 at the Hunter Rd. Parking lot to carpool, or meet us at the museum behind Ray Skillman Ford (1250 US Highway 31 S., Greenwood 46143) at 10:30. After touring the museum, we will go to lunch at the Cheddars at Emerson and County Line. Please RSVP

Attention All Ladies

Please join us for the next Ladies Aid/LWML meeting on THURSDAY, MAY 14TH at 11:30 a.m. in the Commons for an "Indoor Picnic".  Rotisserie chicken will be provided, so bring a side dish or dessert to share.  Fun games will be played. Invite a friend and join us!

Are You in the Loop?

Please make sure that your contact and family information are up to date in myStJohn. This is helpful to our staff in maintaining church records and staying in contact with our members.

Sacred Music Concert

On Sunday, May 3, at 4 pm, join the Cornerstone Lutheran (4850 E Main St, Carmel) Symphonic Choir, Children’s Choir, and instrumentalists as they present “Hymns of Faith”. This concert will feature well-known hymns and pieces that the choir has sung during worship services throughout the church year. It will be a wonderful afternoon of music and worship!

Experience the Joy of Serving

Is God calling you to serve? There are many ways to experience the joy that comes from serving the Lord and His church while connecting with fellow members of St. John. Please click the group below to connect with the leader to express interest.  Most opportunities do not involve long commitments. Want to get involved, but not sure how? Contact Matthew Frick share your ideas and gifts and how you would like to use them at St. John.

Servant Shout-Out

We would like to thank Aaron Rode, JR’s Affordable Tree Care, and an anonymous donor for their contributions clearing the tree line  for the fence on the north side of the property. Your service is very appreciated!

Food Pantry

Did you know that in the first quarter, the St. John community has donated nearly 700 items to the Emmaus Food Pantry? This includes non-perishable food, baby, hygiene, and household items. Those who serve the food pantry are grateful, as they often struggle to keep pace with demand. Items can be left in the grocery cart near the C8 door. Thank you for serving our community!

Prayer Chain

We hope to serve members of the congregation when requests for prayer are presented for specific needs, concerns, or when urgent situations arise throughout the week while maintaining confidentiality. Please reach out by email to either Peggy Rode or Amy Corbin to join us. To submit a prayer request, contact either Peggy or Amy, or you can find Prayer Request under quick links at the bottom of stjohnindy.org, or click the button below.
