May 8 News and Notes

A Blessed Mother’s Day!

On this Mother’s Day, we give thanks for the blessing of mothers and mother figures while also holding in prayer those who carry grief—the loss of a mother, the longing to become a mother, or complicated relationships. May all find comfort in God’s abiding love, which meets us with grace, compassion, and hope.

Attention All Ladies

Please join us for the next Ladies Aid/LWML meeting on THURSDAY, MAY 14TH at 11:30 a.m. in the Commons for an "Indoor Picnic".  Rotisserie chicken will be provided, so bring a side dish or dessert to share.  Fun games will be played. Invite a friend and join us!

Anniversary

St. John will give thanks to God and celebrate our 175th anniversary in 2027. Events and activities are being planned to demonstrate how our future is as captivating as our past. If you have an interest in serving on the committee, please contact Matthew Frick.

St. John Walk-a-Thon

The annual day of fun and fellowship to support our school will be held on May 15. Students are walking to raise funds to improve classroom environments, as well as upgrade the technology in the Dwelling Place. So far, students have raised $6,515 of our $15,000 goal. You can even sponsor your favorite Eagle! Click HERE to donate.

Graduate Recognition

On May 17th we will recognize graduating seniors in all our services. If you have a graduate from high school or college, or another achievement to recognize, please complete this information form by May 14th. God bless our graduates!

Experience the Joy of Serving

Is God calling you to serve? There are many ways to experience the joy that comes from serving the Lord and His church while connecting with fellow members of St. John. Please click the group below to connect with the leader to express interest.  Most opportunities do not involve long commitments. Want to get involved, but not sure how? Contact Matthew Frick share your ideas and gifts and how you would like to use them at St. John.

Food Pantry

Did you know that in the first quarter, the St. John community has donated nearly 700 items to the Emmaus Food Pantry? This includes non-perishable food, baby, hygiene, and household items. Those who serve the food pantry are grateful, as they often struggle to keep pace with demand. Items can be left in the grocery cart near the C8 door. Thank you for serving our community!
