As we are gearing up for our 2015-2016 school year at St. John, some new things are coming including the addition of a new third grade teacher, Miss Abby Keller.

Miss Keller is a May 2015 graduate of Concordia University Chicago in River Forest, IL where she majored in elementary education and completed her student teaching at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights, IL.

Abby is engaged to Jordan Garber. He also graduated from Concordia this past year and will be teaching 2nd grade in Wayne Township schools this year. They plan to be married in June 2016.

Miss Keller comes from a family of educators. Both her parents are teachers and she has appreciated her mom helping her get her classroom ready for this year's students.

Miss Keller's interests include Music, Choir, Reading, and Ultimate Frisbee (her fiancé loves it too.)  She recently finished touring Poland with the Concordia Kapelle Touring Choir sponsored by Next Generation Mission. Miss Keller said, "Most of the concerts were in grand and formal settings.  But my favorite was an outdoor performance in a small town.  We performed to our audience on a dirt road.  The Holy Spirit worked through us to show Christ's love to these special people.  It was an experience I will long remember." 

Join us in welcoming Miss Keller on Sunday, August 9th.  She will be installed at the 10:25 service in the Dwelling Place.  Reception to follow in the Commons.
