Mrs. Lorrie March

Mrs. Lorrie March was on our staff on a part time basis last year. This year she join us full time as the Art teacher and a Resource teacher.

Here is what Mrs. March would like us to know about her.

First and foremost, her favorite verse is Romans 8:28: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."

I was born in Canada, and grew up around the Toronto, Ontario area. There are words that I pronounce differently or vocabulary I use that is not always familiar to my American friends!

In 2018 God directed my family to move from Albany, NY to Indianapolis, IN. This past year has brought on a lot of change and growth for our family, but I finally feel settled here in IN. We love that we are closer to our families, and have enjoyed seeing them much more in the past year!

I am thrilled to be the Art/Resource teacher this year at St. John. I have taught all grades from Kindergarten to 12th Grade, as well as college students. I am excited to share my love of Art and creativity with my students. I hope this year will help them see the beauty in all that God created in a new and exciting way. I also have the wonderful opportunity to work with students in a small group situation. I look forward to helping reinforce the skills that they need to become successful learners. My goal is to be a caring facilitator of learning by creating an environment that initiates excitement, challenge, and curiosity for art, literacy and education.

I am a believer in Jesus Christ and a firm advocate of Lutheran Education. I have dedicated my teaching career to work in Christian and Lutheran Schools. I strive to make Christ the center of my classroom and my lessons at all times. It is my desire to show the students the truth of God’s Word and His masterpiece of creation, as we explore all the various kinds of art and have discussions in class.

I have a loving husband, 2 beautiful girls – Emilee who attends Lutheran High School and Cailyn who is in 6th grade here - and a sweet little boy, Jeremiah who attends Kindergarten at St. John. As a family we enjoy spending time together cooking, baking, gardening, antiquing, outdoor activities such as bike riding, hiking, picnics at the park, as well as crafting, and doing all kinds of crazy art! My family is truly a blessing to me!

I am very thankful that God brought my family and me here, and that we are part of the St. John family.
