New Stewardship Emphasis Kicks Off

Give to God - Generation to Generation (G2G)

Dear St. John Family,

Can you see what's on the horizon? Can you guess?

Are you even looking ahead?

We kick off our G2G season of reflection on Sunday, October 18th. Attend the Bible study that will change your perspective on giving to God. At 9:30 am in the Dwelling Place, you will be given a key -- a little-known insight in the Bible which has been lost from many in our time. Rediscover that, and we will once again begin to look ahead, to see what's on the horizon, from this generation to the next.

Faithful stewardship is about more than meeting today's needs. It is an expression of our trust in God's provision, our gratitude for His blessings, and our commitment to the work He has entrusted to us. As members of the body of Christ, we are called to consider not only how God is working among us today, but also how we can faithfully prepare for the generations who will follow. The gifts we share—our time, our talents, our financial resources, and our prayers—help sustain the ministry of St. John and create opportunities for others to hear the Gospel, grow in faith, and experience the love of Christ.

This is a journey we take together as a church community. G2G invites us to pause, reflect on God's Word, and prayerfully consider what faithful stewardship looks like in our own lives and in the life of our congregation. Rather than simply looking at what we give, we will explore why we give and how our generosity reflects God's faithfulness to us. Together, we can celebrate the blessings we have received, honestly consider the opportunities and challenges before us, and discern how God is calling us to support His mission—not just for today, but for years to come.

We encourage everyone at St. John to be part of this season of reflection. Come ready to learn, ask questions, share in conversation, and look toward the future with faith and hope. As we seek to be faithful stewards of what God has placed in our hands, may we grow together in generosity and purpose, trusting that He will continue to work through His people from one generation to the next.

We hope you will join us as we take the first step in this journey together, reflecting on God’s faithfulness and how we are called to share His blessings from generation to generation.

As we gather to consider the future of St. John, we also have an opportunity to give thanks for those who faithfully serve our congregation today. Sunday, October 18, is also Pastor Appreciation Day, and we invite you to stay after services for a reception honoring our pastor and vicar. What better way to begin this season of reflection than by coming together in fellowship, expressing our gratitude, and celebrating the many ways God works through His people?
