Vicar Schroeder’s Installation

The installation service will be held Sunday, October 12, at ONE Sunday service at 9am. A time of reception and fellowship will follow at 10:30. There will be no education hour held on this date. Be sure to join us!

Fall Break

The church and school office will be open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, October 14-16, from 9:00 to 11:30 am for fall break. Staff are available by email and phone outside of these times.

ReformationFest

Our annual fall celebration will be held Sunday, October 26, 12-3pm in the gym. Make plans to join us for food and fellowship! RSVP HERE!

Business/HR Manager Sought

Climb Time

St. John Youth are going climbing! Join us at Climb Time Indy on Sunday, October 19. We’ll meet at St. John at 2 pm to carpool and enjoy an afternoon of fun physical activity and fellowship. This is open to youth in 5th through 12th grades. Please bring a snack to share. Cost is $20 per participant and an RSVP, payment, and signed waiver are due by Friday, October 17. Please contact Matthew Frick with any questions.

Faith and Football

Join your fellow St. John faithful with other believers from across Indiana for a day of football and fellowship. Ticket prices will vary from $55-$100, depending on seating location. Contact Matthew Frick by Monday, October 13 if you are interested in attending this event, and more information will be given prior to ordering.

Trunk or Treat

St. John will host our annual Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 24. Candy donations are now being accepted. We had an excellent turnout last year and ran out of candy, so these donations really help those who are hosting trunks provide for everyone in attendance. Please drop off donations in the labeled grocery cart in the Commons. RSVP HERE or contact Matthew Frick to register your trunk, and start brainstorming your best themed trunk ideas!

Pastor Appreciation

Pastor Appreciation Sunday will be celebrated at St. John Sunday, October 19. Blessing baskets are available for our pastoral staff, Pastor Duling and Vicar Schroeder, as well as Pastor Huntington and Pastor Olsen, (St. John members who are retired pastors but continue to serve through visitation and preaching). Please take a moment to leave a note of encouragement, thanks, or other token of appreciation in the designated baskets. These will be presented at the services the weekend of October 18-19.

THANK YOU

The St. John Quilters would like to thank everyone who helped support Lutheran World Relief and the shipping of the quilts. We shipped 54 quilts and raised $371.

Snow Removal

The trustees are currently accepting quotes for snow removing and salting of our campus for this coming winter. If you or someone you know is interested in bidding on this contract, please contact Michael Collins.
