Oktoberfest 2018

St. John will celebrate our 166th year of ministry with an Oktoberfest on Sunday, September 30th.  We will combine our two late services and begin at 10:30 in the Dwelling Place.  All the school children will be singing and Holy Communion celebrated.

The event will take place throughout our facility.  The traditional German dinner of Bratwurst, German potato salad, sauerkraut, and apple sauce will take place in the gymnasium.  The beer garden, corn hole contest, and the “adult” trikes will take place on the school playground.  The bounce houses and face painting events will take place in the Dwelling Place.

Something new this year will be a “German Potato Salad” cook-off with prizes.  Enter your favorite family recipe for tasting.  Entries should be brought to the gymnasium before the worship service.  You are invited/encouraged to dress in traditional German outfits for the event.  We will play polkas throughout the afternoon so you can put on your best moves as part of the fellowship.
