Share Christ's Love This Christmas

Share Christ’s Love This Christmas Through the Angel Tree Program

Christmas is a season of giving and a time to celebrate the greatest gift of all: Jesus Christ, our Savior. St. John Lutheran Church and School is partnering with The Salvation Army to bring Christmas joy to children in need through the Angel Tree Program, helping local families experience a brighter holiday season.

How to Participate

Angels are available for adoption on the Angel Tree in the Commons at St. John. Each angel includes a child’s wish list to guide your gift purchases.

  • Choose an angel from the tree in the Commons.

  • Purchase gifts based on the child’s wish list. The Salvation Army recommends spending approximately $125 per angel. Families, friends, and groups are encouraged to work together to adopt an angel.

  • Return gifts unwrapped, with the provided tag attached, to St. John no later than Sunday, November 29.

Each gift helps make Christmas special for a child and reminds a family that their community cares about them.

Giving as an Expression of Faith

For Christians, generosity is more than a holiday tradition. It is a response to the love God has shown us through Jesus Christ. As 1 John 4:19 reminds us, “We love because he first loved us.”

The Angel Tree Program offers a tangible way to put our faith into action by caring for our neighbors and meeting practical needs. As we prepare to celebrate our Savior’s birth, we have an opportunity to reflect His love through simple acts of kindness that bring joy, dignity, and hope to others.

More Opportunities to Serve

St. John will also conduct a toy drive and food pantry collection in December, offering additional opportunities to support local families during the holiday season. Watch for more details about these upcoming collections.

The Salvation Army is also seeking volunteers to assist with collecting and distributing Angel Tree gifts. Those interested in serving in this way can help ensure gifts reach the children and families who need them. Learn More.

Join Us in Making Christmas Brighter

Whether you adopt an angel individually, team up with friends or family, or volunteer your time, your participation can make a meaningful difference in our community.

Thank you for helping St. John continue our heritage of caring and sharing Christ’s love this Christmas. May this season be an opportunity to reflect on the blessings we have received and extend that same love to our neighbors.
