Special Speaker for September Lunch and Learn
St. John Lunch and Learn Adult Ministry invites the community to hear from Christena (Jones) Estby on Thursday, September 5. Lunch is served at 11:30am with the presentation beginning at 12:30. Members of the community are asked to RSVP HERE.
Christena Estby is a mom of four amazing kids. She's also a Lutheran pastor's wife, homeschooling, adoptive, special-needs parent, and an author. She works part-time as a communications assistant and does her best to juggle the low-level chaos always present in her home.
Greater Than Grief: Two Brothers Against Duchenne is Christena's first book. It's a memoir-style telling of how the Estby's two youngest sons came to their family. Stepping out in faith, the Estbys made a choice to live life without fear of the future. They aim to live a life together filled with hope and to serve as advocates and educators.
Christena enjoys living in the peace and quiet of the country about an hour south of Chicago. Along with her husband, Cory, she is raising her children (and a dog, three cats, and crested gecko) through laughter and tears and a whole lot of trial and error. She loves coffee and conversation, outdoor adventures with the kids, and hanging out in the rocker on the front porch.
Christena was born and raised in Indianapolis (attending Trinity Lutheran School and then Lutheran High School of Indianapolis) and is very thankful for the invitation to speak to the Lunch and Learn group at St. John!
