St. John Begins 172nd Academic Year
St. John Lutheran School is excited to begin its 172nd academic year. Through God’s grace we are fully staffed and ready to welcome 220 students to our preschool through eighth grade classes.
· We welcome Miss Cora Watkins (3rd grade) and Mr. Ryan McGillem (PE/health) to our staff.
· Kindergarten, 2nd grade, and 8th grade classes are full.
· Our theme for this year is “Endure”, taken from Hebrews 12:1-2:
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”
This is also the theme for the Youth Gathering next summer.
· The main water pipes in the school were replaced and a new bathroom was built in the second preschool room.
· The school was blessed to receive a federal grant that will help us replace the walk-in freezer in the kitchen.
· There are still over a half-dozen potential students in our enrollment pipeline who need to complete shadow days after school starts.
Thank you for your continued support of St. John Lutheran School. Please keep our students, teachers, and families in your prayers as they all endeavor to raise courageous disciples in faithfulness and love.
