SCUBA VBS - VBS will be held June 10-13 from 6-8pm at St. John. Join us as we dive deep into friendship with God! Take kids deep into an amazing undersea adventure where they’ll experience the ever-flowing, never-ending love of God. Meals are provided each day for families at 5pm, and VBS activities begin at 6pm. Registration for participants and volunteers is available online  HERE We are especially in need of adult volunteers to help give our kids a great VBS experience! Please register by May 31.

Sunday School - This Sunday marks the last Sunday School for the 23-24 school year. We are grateful for the teachers who have faithfully instructed the children throughout the year. We would like to be able to offer a multi-age Sunday school class throughout the summer. If you would be willing to be a teacher on a rotating basis, please contact Matthew Frick.

 

Adult Choir and Handbells - This Sunday is the end of the season for our adult choir and handbells. Thank you to all of those who edify our worship with making music to the Lord. Please consider adding your singing or ringing when both groups resume in the fall.

Graduate Recognition - Do you know a high school or college student graduating this year? Please submit (by May 24) their name, school, honors/awards and post-graduation intentions to Matthew Frick so we may recognize them. Graduates will be honored on June 2 with a special blessing during worship.

 

Commencement - Lutheran High School’s 46th baccalaureate and commencement ceremony will take place Sunday, May 19 at 2:00pm.  

 

Music Concert - The SJLS music concert will be Tuesday, May 21, at 6:30pm in the Dwelling Place.

 

Eighth Grade Graduation - Join us as our thirteen 8th graders will be graduating on Thursday, May 23, at 7:00 pm in the Dwelling Place.

 

Memorial Day - The church and school office will be closed on Monday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day.

 

Music Camp - St. Peter’s Lutheran Church is hosting a summer music camp for kids, 1st-12th grade (choir) and 5th-12th grade (band) July 15-19. Click  HERE for more information and to register!

Garden Help Wanted - Sign up this weekend in the Commons to help care for and beautify the Courtyard Garden or some other area around our church and school. Check out the map and poster in the Commons and please sign up to help. You will be part of a group or team, many hands make light work. Near-Death Experiences -GriefShare ministry will offer a 6-week class on dear-death experiences (NDEs) beginning June 3. The first meeting will be from 6:00-8:00pm in the music room, where we will watch the 2023 documentary, After Death (watch the trailer here). Subsequent meetings, running Mondays June 10 – July 8 from 6:00-7:00pm, will be based on the 2023 video series, Imagine the God of Heaven (Watch the trailer).

Thank You - The Youth Board would like to thank everyone who purchased greeting cards for our fundraiser. About $500 was raised, and will be put toward the National Youth Gathering.
