St. John Walk a Thon

The St. John Walk-a-Thon is back! This is the 26th year for this exciting and effective fundraiser. Money raised by past Walk-a-Thons has funded the purchase of SMART Boards, PE equipment, art supplies, bleachers, signage, and more! Gifts made to this year's event will help the school renovate the gym floor, including a full sanding, repainting and striping, and refinishing. Our fundraising goal is $10,000. This will ensure this space will continue to serve the St. John community through athletic contests, PE classes, and community events for years to come!
Students and staff look forward to participating in the Walk-a-Thon on the grounds of St. John on Friday, May 16. This is a unique opportunity for our community to rally behind the vision for our school and childcare. Please support our efforts by making a donation today! Be sure to designate your favorite Eagle, as prizes will be awarded to the top fundraisers.
As of this week, we have $2,335 in contributions for the 2025 Walk-a-thon. If we meet our goal of $10,000, then teachers Laura Collins and Jamie Belschner will be sleeping on our roof for a night! Have you made your contribution yet?
The proceeds from the event will go toward updating the gym floor. Why is this important? According to Brandon Davis, Athletic Director,
“Our gym floor is at the center of many of our athletic competitions, gym classes, and even community events. Regular maintenance on the solid hickory wood floor is required to keep the floor in good working order. The proposed maintenance and update to the wood floor is being done to use updated floor sealant, update the graphics and lines, and improve the overall look and functionality of the floor.
We are looking to sand the floor back down to the wood, have the lines, borders, and sports court lines repainted, and update the graphics and school name on the floor. When that has been done, we will have the latest water-based hardwood floor sealant applied. This maintenance will brighten up the wood and make the wood look new again. With more regular maintenance, we will ensure that it will continue serve St. John for many years to come.”
