The Emrick Family

We are excited to welcome Bill and Roxanne Emrick to our St. John Family. They joined our Church Family last fall from Illinois.

Rev. William Emrick was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania, to parents who were both born an raised in Pittsburgh (which explains his devotion to the Pirates, Steelers and Penguins.) He grew up and graduated from high school in Muncie and attended Purdue University on an ROTC scholarship. After serving five years on active duty onboard the USS Sylvania and USS America, he left active duty to enroll in Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne. William was ordained in 1986 in his home congregation, Grace, Muncie. He served 31 years as a pastor in northern Minnesota, North Carolina, Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois. The last eleven years he served as sole pastor or Saint Peter Lutheran Church and School in Saint Peter, Illinois.

Roxanne Emrick was born in Spencer, Indiana, and grew up in Spencer and Fishers (when, she tells me, it was only a tiny village.) She earned her BS in nursing from Indiana University. She has worked for 35 years as a pediatric nurse, mostly in the Indianapolis area. She currently serves as a triage nurse in the Community Health Network pediatric practice on County Line Road in Greenwood. We married in 2009.

William brought two children into the marriage: Joseph, who currently resides with his wife Carissa and their twin babies, Wyatt and Kenley, and Clara, who was adopted as an infant in Saginaw, Michigan.
