Voters' Meeting June 9
UPDATE: The voters' approved both of these motions unanimously.
A congregational voters' meeting has been scheduled for June 9. The two items on the agenda are detailed below. More information will be shared at the meeting, and time will be given for questions.
School Plumbing Renovation
The water supply pipes throughout the school are the original, 60-year old cast iron pipes. These pipes have exceeded their lifespan, are in poor condition, and are in danger of failing and causing leaks at any time. This project would replace these pipes with new copper piping throughout the building. It would also create new return lines making the hot water system more efficient and reliable. A necessary bathroom will also be added to the second PreK room. Overall, this project will improve the school plumbing functionality and prevent further repair issues. The winning bid is with AW Plumbing in the amount of $81,000. The congregation is being asked to approve this necessary expense now so that work can be completed before school is back in session in August. There are funds available in the Preserving God's House Fund, and the balance can be covered through budgeted maintenance cost.
Pam Johnson to be Called as Director of Parish Music
Mrs. Johnson is currently serving in the role of part-time Parish Music Director. When she was asked to re-assume this role nearly two years ago, it was with the understanding it would be on a temporary, contracted basis. Due to other changes that have occurred since, Mrs. Johnson has continued to faithfully serve our congregation in this capacity. Issuing this Call will not change anything in regard to her duties or salary. It is a prudent step regarding her role and function within our congregation. Please note this Call will not impact the New Song service and its music leader, Abbie Stancato, who will continue to lead the praise team.
The long-term vision, (after a Senior Pastor is installed) would involve Mrs. Johnson fully retiring, and at that time a Call Committee would be formed to seek a new full-time Director of Parish Music. We are grateful for Pam and Abbie's service to our Lord at St. John and pray He would continue to bless our music ministry.
