School News: February 14, 2023

2023-24 SCHOOL RE-ENROLLMENT
Open Enrollment has officially begun. We are now allowing community families to enroll. If you aren’t sure if you are enrolled for the 2023-24 School Year, please reach out to Heidi Mielke as soon as possible.

BASKETBALL UPDATE
Our Basketball Teams do not have any games this week.
They will continue to have practices.
 
A huge thank you to Moe’s Southwest Grill in Greenwood for donating the entire Staff Lunch on Friday. If you have the chance, please stop in and order from them and tell them thanks for their generosity.
 
Students in grades 3-8 are invited to participate in Sci-Fest.

There will be 2 different competitions:

 
  • We will have an in-school competition with all students in grades 3-8 in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Challenge. Students will be given a set of materials to build something to complete a challenge. This will take place on Thursday, February 23rd in class.
 
  •  The second competition will be at Lutheran High School on Thursday, March 2nd at 6:00 PM. Winners of the classroom challenge will be invited to participate in this competition. More information will be sent out following the in-school competition

ME AND MY GUY DANCE

A flyer was sent home with all female students to save the date for the Me and My Guy Dance on Friday. Feb. 24th. To sign up for the Me and My Guy Dance, click here.
If you would like to VOLUNTEER (help decorate, check guests in, serve snacks, take pictures, etc.) please click here to sign up. 
 
St. John is looking for a qualified adult to aide in first grade Monday through Fridays from 7:45 to about 11:15. This person would work closely with Miss Huske to help the first grade class, primarily in the areas of reading and math. The position is open immediately with the option for next year. This is an hourly position with no benefits. If you or someone you know is interested, please contact the school office.
 
We are in need of Substitute teachers. If you can help us out, either half days or full days, please contact Jeff Huntington or Heidi Mielke.
 
Our St. John Summer Camp is returning. It is available for 4 year old's through completed 4th grades. One of the best things about our summer camp is the flexibility to meet your family's needs.
