Summer Update

A Note from Mr. Huntington

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). With these words Jesus invites us to cast our cares and worries on him. It is also a fitting reminder for the summer, where Jesus extends that same invitation to tired students (and teachers and parents) to find rest through Him. I pray that your summer is both rejuvenating and an opportunity to spend time in His presence.

Our theme for the 2023-2024 school year is “Connected” based on John 15:1-5, especially verse five: “[Jesus said] I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” Not only are we connected to Jesus Christ, but as His followers we are all connected to each other. This theme will be built on and expanded with the students throughout the year.

I am humbled to be serving you this year as school principal, and I look forward to being connected to you as a partner in your child’s education. I hope to see you August 7 at our Back-to-School Night.

This event is for parents only. Teachers will be contacting families to meet students at a different time.
  • All New Families are invited to join us starting at 6:15
  • All Returning Families are invited to join us at 6:45
  • Meet the Teachers and Classrooms will run from 7-8:15
  • This is a great time to sign your Choice Paperwork (if you haven't done so already)
  • You can pick up some used uniform clothes for a free will donation to go back to the school

SCHOOL UNIFORM DRIVE

Do you have old school uniforms that do not fit your child anymore? Wondering what to do with them? We would love to have you drop them by the office the week of July 17-21. We will then put the clothes on display for Back to School Night. Items will be sorted by sizes and we invite you to "purchase" gently used school clothes for the upcoming school year. We will be having a free will donation so feel free to shop on Monday, August 7th at the Back to School Event.

ATHLETICS UPDATE

Parents of athletes for the upcoming school year (5th-8th Grades), we just wanted to let you know of a couple of announcements and updates for this coming school year. Click here to read more.

A Fall Sports Meeting will be held on Thursday, August 3rd at 6pm, for students interested in Volleyball, Soccer, or Cross Country.

Games and practice schedules will be shared soon.

If you have any questions about any of these, please contact Mr. Davis at

The Annual St. John Lutheran Church and School Picnic will be held on August 6, as we prepare to kick of another school year. Join your St. John community in worship and then enjoy a time of food and fellowship! The meal will be provided with a free-will donation being taken. Please bring a dessert to share! Please RSVP using this LINK. See you there!

Every family should have received their final tuition bill for the 2023-24 School Year. If you have not received yours, please reach out to Heidi Mielke. If you are planning on doing monthly payments, that needs to be set up prior to August 1st.

Mrs. Waterman, our Art Teacher, is working on a water bottle project. Therefore, we are collecting empty plastic water bottles. You can drop them off at the office/foyer Monday through Friday from 9-3.
