TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME- September 15
The tradition for St. John Lutheran School going to a yearly Indianapolis Indians game will be returning but this year in the fall on Wednesday, September 15 when 1st through 8th grades will be attending an Indianapolis Indians Minor League baseball game vs. the St. Paul Saints. We will be busing down to Victory Field for this 12:05 PM home game. There will be a relaxed dress code for the day. Please remember you are still representing St. John so make sure all shirts are appropriate as well as shorts. If your child’s teacher would like your child to wear something particular, they will reach out to you.

Make dinner a selfless act by joining us for a fundraiser to support St. John Lutheran School. Come in to the Chipotle at 4645 S Emerson Ave in Indianapolis on Wednesday, September 15th between 5:00pm and 9:00pm. Bring in this flyer, show it on your smartphone or tell the cashier you’re supporting the cause to make sure that 33% of the proceeds will be donated to St. John Lutheran School.

PICTURE DAY- September 17
School pictures will take place THIS Friday, September 17th. Please refer to the order form that was sent home with students last week. All students will be photographed for the school yearbook and identification purposes whether pictures are purchased or not. All portrait orders must be paid online. NOTE – The school dress code is relaxed that day. Also, printing on any shirts must be in agreement with our school values. You can also place your order online here. Be sure to use this code to order: 59466WB If you have a PreK student that does not attend on Friday, we would still love their picture. You are welcome to show up between 10:15-11:00.
Lutheran High School CheerCamp
Our LHS Cheer Head Coach would like to invite students in Pre-K – 8th Grade to their Cheer Clinic on Saturday, September 18th 9 - 11 AM. Please see the attached graphic to share. The link to sign up is: https://forms.gle/SAgjxqWZN8b6mJ3w8

THIS WEEK IN SPORTS
• This past weekend the 5th and 6th grade volleyball teams played in the Our Shepherd Tournament. The 6th grade team placed 1st and the 5th grade team placed 4th.
• The Varsity Volleyball team played in the St. James tournament and placed 7th.
Great job Lady Eagles!!!
• Today our Eagles Soccer and Volleyball Teams will travel to New Palestine to face Zion. The game starts at 5:30 for Soccer and JV Volleyball and 6:30 for Varsity Volleyball
• On Thursday the Soccer Team will be at home and face the Trinity Trojans @ 5:30.
• This weekend our Varsity Volleyball team will travel to Seymour to play in the LIT Tournament.

MAP TESTING
MAP Testing for grades K-8 will take place between September 9 – 17. Each of these grades will take online Reading and Math tests within this program. These test results will be compared with the baseline tests which were given late last spring to set specific goals for our students. More information about these MAP tests will be shared at our first Parent-Teacher conferences which are set for later on this fall (dates TBA).
FREE AND REDUCED-PRICE LUNCHES
The 2021-22 forms are available outside the school office or on Harmony. Since the information from these forms are used for more than just the free and reduced lunch program (especially for our grant writing of special projects), we are asking that all St. John Lutheran School families complete one of these forms. Please note - applications must be submitted every year and returned to the office by September 17th. Attn: Kat Wiegand.
